John - enthusiastic and devout

John is a polished player who reminds us to not take our talent for granted. We are buoyed by his faith, and because of him, we are reminded that we are always playing for a higher purpose.

This doesn't mean he is a fuddy-duddy! He always manages to make us laugh and he has plenty of stories to tell from his experiences and the people he has met. The exciting news for John is that he is getting married. Congratulations, John! Sorry, ladies.

John Heinen has received a Masters of Music in Trumpet Performance from the Yale School of Music studying with Allan Dean. His Bachelor of Music is from Texas Christian University, and graduated as the 2007 Presser Scholar for outstanding achievement in music.

While in Texas he has played with the Richardson Symphony Orchestra and the Los Colinas Symphony Orchestra.

In his continual pursuit to be an affecting performer and teacher, he has traveled throughout the world competing and sharing his musical abilities in Germany, Italy, China, South Korea, Puerto Rico, and Thailand.

While at Yale he was a founding member of the Elm City Brass, and additionally performed with both the Yale Philharmonia and early music ensemble. He is the Trumpet Instructor and Performer for the Luzerene Center Summer Music Camp.

He is currently a private instructor in trumpet, and performing freelance and in chamber ensembles and orchestras around the Dallas/Fort Worth area
