Jason - organized
and calm
Jason has an unbelievable talent towards organization. He is able
to look at a mess and organize it in only a few moments. We turn
to him for keeping us organized and prepared. Plus he is a tremendous
player that never gets ruffled. He makes playing look so easy-how
does he do that!? Jason oozes talent but with a humble manner. All
the while he is a doting father of a new born!
Jason Williams plays trumpet with Touch of Brass and teaches instrumental
music and is a freelance musician in the DFW area.
His background ranges from the standard university path in music
to marching with Drum and Bugle Corps, Southwind and the Madison
Scouts in particular. He won the 1996 Mellophone Individual World
Champion Award in DCI and was a member of the Ensemble World Champion
Award the previous year.
Jason graduated from the University of North Texas where he studied
with Leonard Candelaria. He received a Master's Degree in Performance
from Texas Christian University where his principal teacher was
Jon Burgess. He is in demand as both a trumpet teacher and performer
in the DFW area.
Among his most recent accomplishments is the birth of his second
daughter for which credit must be shared with his wife.
His professional affiliations include the Texas Music Educators
Association, Texas Bandmasters Association, the International Trumpet
Guild and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia.
